Derby recap (5-18-06)
Sorry it took so long but Derby was fun. I handled about 35 gigabytes of photos. I was stationed in the auxiliary media center, where there was about 45 TV's in front on me. It was pretty cool, made me feel like I was in NASA or something. I only had a small space to work with, which was made even smaller since we had to fit two laptops in it. Food was good and free. I had a nice time.
Derby (5-3-06)
So I will be working the Oaks and Derby this year. I'll be working in the press with Kinetic Corp., the official photographer. If you get your picture taken while you're there, be sure to order a copy. This will be my first Derby/Oaks. I think every Louisvillian should go at least once and I'm pretty excited about it. Free food and drink the whole day! I'll have some comments after its over.

Disc Format Wars (4-4-06)
The recent war between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray is still not showing any clear cut winner. Personally, I don't care. I would suggest not getting either one. They are way to expensive and aren't going to be around for very long. And besides that, the digital copyright protection is insane. Even Bill Gates agrees with that - and that's when you know you've gone too far. Please do not waste any of your money, wait a couple of years. And then wait a few more for HVD to come out. Seriously though, both are not consumer friendly in any way. There are going to be serious compatability problems between players, TV's, and computers. Show the industry that we're not going to put up with it at all - do not buy any HD-DVD or Blu-ray discs - at least not anytime soon.
Ninjas (3-31-06)
www.askaninja.comI've always wanted to be a ninja. Ninjas are cool. So if you've ever wondered what it may be like to be a ninja this is a great place to go. And you can send in your own questions that you've always wanted to ask a ninja. Ninja gifts is my favorite, start with that one.

Vista Versions (3-7-2006)
http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,124873,tk,dn022706X,00.aspSo Microsoft has confirmed that the new OS, Windows Vista, will come in six versions. Four will be consumer products and two for business. First of all, six is way too many. People are just going to be more confused. I could maybe understand four for business and two for home but not the other way around. Ninety percent of the consumer market is not going to know the difference anyway. I say get rid of the starter and home premium. That leaves you with home basic and ultimate (or rename ultimate to home premium). That's two for each market. I just don't see that many options being good for the consumer market. But we'll see when people start buying computers with Vista on it. Oh, which version of Vista did you want? Ultimate? Well, that will bump the price up a bit.
Guitar (3-6-06)
So I just bought a guitar recently. I've always wanted to play and now it looks like I've got my chance. My fingers hurt. Anyway, it's an Ibanez V70CEBK. It's really nice for what I paid for it. So I've been learning Witchy Woman and Take It Easy. Hopefully I'll be rockin' in no time.

Not So Super Bowl Thoughts (2-6-2006)
Less than stellar play made this a dry game. Especially in the first half. It took way too long for everyone to settle down and play football. Except for a trick play and a long bomb from R.burger, nothing else real exciting happened. I was a total of 10 points away on my picks, not too shabby. Of course, if Seattle could kick, I'd only be four away. Now on to the important stuff. The commercials were lame. Maybe three or four were decent. The MacGyver one, the Burger King one, the Sierra Mist one, and the Fed-Ex dinosaur one, and the ones that said "Don't judge too quickly" were all pretty good. The Budweiser one where the little horse tried to pull the cart and the big horses helped push the back was sweet, inspiring, and made you feel warm inside - but then again that could have been the bean dip. Anyway, congrats Steelers; just don't forget who denied you last time: the Cowboys!!

Sally: Oh, what a lovely scarf. Is that wool?
Mary: No, it's my cat's hair.
Super Bowl != Birthday
I just realized that since the NFL added a week to its schedule the SB is now the first Sunday in February and no longer the last in January. This means my birthday is never going to be on the SB again. I was born on the SB! You can't take that away from me. It's just not right!
Super Bowl
I hope they both lose and that's all I'm saying. (Pit 24 Sea 17) Go Cowboys.
It's about time
So I just looked at Speed's CECS website and it's finally been redesigned. The old one was embarrassing. No cool design, bad colors, lame layout. It had to have been bad for recruiting. But thankfully it actually looks like a real website now.

Huh?
http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,124450,00.asp#Isn't this kinda pointless? Shouldn't MS be working on getting Vista ready. Maybe they are anticipating all the problems and just decided to get an early start. Of course, now I'm wondering what's the point in buying Vista, if MS is ready to replace it before it even comes out.
Congrats
Just want to give a shout out to The Phantom of the Opera and Andrew Lloyd Weber, now the longest running musical on Broadway!
