Movie Reviews
The lastest movies I have seen for the first time will be here. This does not necessarily mean they are new movies.
Take the Lead
Really good film, inspiring and fun. It tells the story of a dance teacher in New York who teaches some troublesome students the art of ball room dancing and changes their lives in the process.
Beowulf and Grendel
Well, the story was the same as usual and that part is good, but I was disappointed in the film. To much uneeded trash and the beginning was very slow and confusing.
The Benchwarmers
Classic stupid comedy, it was pretty funny. I'm sure lots of quotes will come from it. Not sure about some of the stuff in it though.
V for Vendetta
Not what I was expecting, this is not an action movie. Rather one of those weird political movies that don't make any sense because no real government is like that anyway. And there is more than "some language". The plot was very suspensful and thick but still not really my type of movie.
Secondhand Lions
This was a surprisingly funny movie. I had been wanting to see it for a while and finally got around to it. Good clean humor for everyone and a nice story to go along with it. I thought the old guy actors did a good job and the sixth sense kid was decent for most of it.
The Legend of Zorro
This film follows in the footsteps of the original. It follows the same basic plotline, just wrapped in different paper. But it is still entertaining and fun to watch. The intro action scenes were rather cheesy but otherwise good, although not a whole lot were present. Overall, it was enjoyable but not as good as the original. And by the way, the special features hint at a third Zorro, so watch out.
Madagascar
I was disappointed by this movie. I was expecting an instant classic like Shrek but didn't see that at all. The characters were not all that interesting, except for the Lemurs and the penguins. The plot line was lame.
